I love going to the movies...always have. The smell of popcorn and the whole event like feel of a cinema.
The lights dimming and the curtain widening...
However nowadays the lights seem to be off from the start...ripped off.
Nostalgia aside, I am in fact looking forward to the latest Indiana Jones offering this thursday and thanks to my raving mate mandrake i'm all sussed for the premiere...sweetness.
However I do hope it's more exciting than the last crusade which i watched on saturday night...and promtly fell asleep half way through. It can't be the fact that i was lying on the couch in front of a cosy fire with my wife at work and the kids asleep. Anyway an early night is good now and again.
This may sound crazy to some but I now have more excitement pulling into the carpark of my local church than the parking lot of the movies. I'll have you know this was not always the case, being quite honest.
Upon arriving at church my heart starts beating faster and i have an expectancy that anything can happen...and i'm ready for it. Bring it on! The tangible presence of God, unspeakable joy, peace...healings, deliverance...
God is doing a new thing and it is reeally exciting.
So if i had a choice of going to church to hang out with God or the movies, God is definitely more exciting than Indiana Jones.
